-Altar servering is a liturgical ministry. The servers are a team of boys and girls who assist the presiding priest during the mass. They serve at approximately 2 masses per month, but are also called upon to serve during special seasonal masses. They may also be asked to assist during wedding or funeral masses. Altar serving is an excellent way to allow children to be an active participant in our parish community! Altar servers must be at least 7 years of age and have received the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Training is provided for all new altar servers. If you are interested in joining this ministry please contact coordinator Cindy Garcia at 639-0304 or email her at garcia_ohana@yahoo.com for more information. -Sacristans aid the celebrant in the preparation of the mass. They work behind the scenes setting up the vestments, the altar, preparation of the Sacramentary and the Lectionary for the presiding priest. Sacristans also maintain sufficient supplies of altar bread and wine, candles, incense, charcoal, tapers, and lighters. They ensure the respectful and reverent handling of the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Blood of Christ before and after the mass Training is provided to anyone interested in serving in this ministry. Please contact the church office at 332-8011 for more information.
